You can arrive by 11:55 am. If you are driving, then you'll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of free parking. For directions to reach us, please see the Contact Us page. You'll be greeted at the door by our welcoming team who will give you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming events.
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in for meeting friends. We accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not whether you come as a suited businessman or a sporty person that is fine with us.
Absolutely not! God is with us all week long, and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect, and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further encourage us, we have small midweek groups (a small group is simply a meeting of maybe 7-8 people in our church's office). Small groups are a great way to get to know others in the church, to discuss Christianity in more detail and to be real with each other about everyday living. In a small group, no question is too stupid, and you'll find other people also exploring God for the first time.
We also open our church on Sat. Anyone can come to join us for ping pong, chess, refreshment..etc.
We aim to be an all-inclusive church. However, our resources are limited, so we try to provide for our current attendees. If you wish to discuss specific needs, please contact the church office. Our premises are accessible for those with disabilities. We have reserved parking spaces near the entrance. Both the kitchen and toilets are convenient. In our worship hall, we have reserved space for those who require wheelchairs.
Mississauga Southern Chinese Baptist Church
MSCBC is a family-style church that includes people of all ages, different backgrounds and cultures. Whoever you are, you will sure to receive a warm welcome at MSCBC.
What we believe?
We are a Christian church (under Canadian National Baptist Convention) and believe that all can have a personal relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God's only son), who invites us to follow him. Details can be found on Our Believes page. We have friendly relationships with other local churches. If you are interested in exploring faith, then please come along on a Sunday or contact the office to ask for a free booklet. Our contact info can be found on the Contact Us page. If you don't have a bible, we will happily provide one.
What to expect?
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries, here's a quick summary of what you can expect at MSCBC.
First of all, we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please ask. We start our meeting at 11:30 am, then we spend about 30 minutes worshipping. Our worship time consists of modern and traditional songs. Then, we read the Bible and have some prayers. Everyone participates in the worship, but at 12:30 pm, the kids and youth go to their groups. We then have a talk from the Bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives. We then end with a few minutes of notices keeping us meeting around midday, with tea and coffee. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years, you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God.
