Welcome to all Visitors
Mississauga Southern Chinese Baptist Church is a big family that includes people from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are you are assured a warm welcome at MSCBC. If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 10:50am. If you are driving then you'll be pleased to hear that there is plenty of free parking. For directions to reach us please see the Contact Us page. You'll be greeted on the door by our welcoming team who will give you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming events. This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not. Whether you come as a suited business man or a sporty person that is fine with us. For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at MSCBC. First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please simply ask. We start our meeting at 11 am, then we spend about 30 minutes worshipping. Our worship time consists of modern and traditional songs. Then, we read the Bible and have some prayers. Everyone participates in the worship but at 11:30am the kids and youth go to their own groups. We then have a talk from the bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives. We then end with a few minutes of notices keeping us informed of diary dates etc. We finish our meeting around midday, with tea and coffee. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God. We are a Christian church (under Southern Baptist Convention) and believe that all can have relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God's only son) who invites us to follow him. Details can be found on About Us page. We have friendly relationships with other local churches. If you are interested in exploring faith then please come along on a Sunday or contact the office to ask for a free booklet. If you don't have a bible we will happily provide one (if English isn't your first language we would love to make a gift to you of a bible in Chinese). Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further encourage us we have midweek small groups (a small group is simply a meeting of maybe 10 people in our church's office). Small groups are a great way to get to know others in the church, to discuss Christianity in more details and to be real with each other about everyday living. In a small group, no question is too stupid and you'll find other people also exploring God for the first time. We aim to be an all inclusive church. However our resources are limited so we try to provide for our current attendees. If you wish to discuss specific needs please contact the church office. Our premises are accessible for those with disabilites. We have reserved parking spaces near the entrance. Both the kitchen and toilets are accessible. In our worship hall, we have reserved space for those who require wheel chairs. |
